Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

My wife and I stopped by this afternoon and we were so pleased. As soon as we arrived Kelly asked if we needed help. She took us right to the perennials we were interested in and was so very kind and helpful! My wife went back later in the afternoon to purchase additional items. Once again Kelly was right there to help and even loaded 3 heavy bags in the trunk for her. They have an extensive variety and the personal touch was great. Loweโ€™s and Home Depot are ok, but you are basically on your own. We needed some โ€œhand holdingโ€ and Kelly gets an A+ for the kind, knowledgeable and personal touch! A great experience! Thanks Kelly!

Such a beautiful place with beautiful high quality plants!

This nursery typically has a nice selection of quality plants, but I would highly discourage purchasing anything that is dormant. Unfortunately the growers do not guarantee that the plants will wake up from dormancy and you could end up with a DOA. I purchased an Edgeworthia chrysantha from this place on opening day 2025. Edgeworthia is kind of marginal here (maybe 7B hardiness?), but it was no where near cold enough to kill it at that time of the year or beyond, and I had planted it promptly as an extra blanket of caution. I have 4 more Edgeworthia in the ground from other nurseries that all woke up with no problem or even any frost damage. To make matters worse, I revisited the nursery several weeks later, and it was clear to me that some of the plants that were still there were also dead. You could see that the survivors were starting to leaf out and had turgid stems. The dead had withered, desiccated tips with no new leaves. I didnโ€™t see any clear patterns, but I believe they had moved the pots from near the Aucubas and other shade plants to a lower terrace, and I suspect that the most exposed windward pots on edges had got frost bitten a couple weeks before the flower buds w

Doug and crew are awesome. From helping me figure the design and talking me through options, to keeping it real so we could make logical decisions for the property we have and what we want to do (for the immediate and long term landscape). They built us two excellent retaining walls that allowed for a porch and extension of property for a proper backyard and side yard instead of the steep slopes we were dealing with. They also took care to ensure we had drainage away from house, concrete poured for our new patio and sidewalk, reseeded grass, fountain and clearance for a trampoline. Highly recommend if you want top quality landscaping and nursery products.
